For workplaces and institutions
Disability inclusion that holds up on an ordinary working day
Most organisations already have something in place: a policy, a committee, an equal opportunity cell. The gap is usually between what has been designed on paper and what a person with disability actually experiences when they apply, join, study or ask for support.
We help you close that gap. We start with what you already have, so you don't end up with one more initiative on the pile.
The BELONG framework
Six areas, looked at together
In most workplaces and institutions, the intent to include is already there. What tends to slip is everything in between: the policy and the person applying, the accommodation request and the manager receiving it, being hired and being promoted. We created BELONG to look at all of it together, so people with disabilities who are hired or admitted also feel they belong.
- BackingCommitment and policyVisible leadership commitment, clear policies and a named owner, so inclusion has more behind it than goodwill.
- EntryAdmission and hiringAccessible applications, assessments, interviews and admissions, so talented people with disabilities can actually get in.
- LandscapePhysical and digital spacesBuildings, classrooms, offices, websites and internal tools that everyone can reach, move through and use independently.
- OptionsAccommodations, assistive tech and flexibilityA simple, dignified way to ask for and receive reasonable accommodation, assistive technology and flexible ways of working.
- NormsCulture, attitudes and awarenessEveryday behaviour, language and confidence among colleagues, managers, faculty and peers, so people feel safe to be themselves.
- GrowthRetention and progressionFair access to learning, promotion and leadership, so people with disabilities stay and move up.
